The University of Florida Shelter Medicine Program offers Focused Shelter Consultations tailored for the priorities and opportunities identified by the participating animal shelters. Focused Shelter Consultations are led by experts with decades of experience and are completely free of charge, thanks to a grant from Maddie’s Fund.
The UF consultation service was recently expanded with a modular Consulting Cooperative that brings specialized teams to UF client shelters for hands-on support of high-impact programs, including Spay-Neuter Expansion, Neonatal Kitten Support, and Shelter Operations. These modular specialty teams are typically deployed to shelters after the initial UF Focused Consultation is completed and the most urgent needs are identified. The specialty team visits are also provided at no cost to UF client shelters with support from Maddie’s Fund.
